  • Three Days in Amsterdam

As part of my annual family vacation we picked to spend three days in Amsterdam. Stunning and gorgeous as it was, it was utterly impossible to take good shots without being trampled by either a bike or a hoard of pedestrians. Hats off to the girls who manage to get those Insta shots in the streets of Amsterdam. Thankfully, I still managed to take these few shots and felt super proud that a few of them turned out half decent! Here’s a mini visual diary of the trip to the Netherlands!

    Canal Cruise in Amsterdam

    Things to do in Amsterdam

    Go for a Canal Cruise

Of course the first thing to do was to take a Canal Cruise and really soak in the city! One of my fav things to do in general, and in any city, is to hop on a boat or ferry and take a trip around the city and create a mental map. This really helps me a ton when I’m trying to navigate to different spots around town on foot. There are a bunch of different spots all over central Amsterdam (Amsterdam-Centrum) where you can get a ferry boat and take a tour of the canals. I think it’s an absolute must!

    Explore the Art at Rjiksmuseum

We decided to get off right in front of Rjiksmuseum near the Museumplein after our boat tour and spent the afternoon exploring the art followed by a delicious Nutella Stroopwaffles.

    The Library at Rjiksmuseum

One of the main attractions inside this attraction is the Library at the Rjiksmuseum. While you are not allowed to do loud and obnoxious photography since it is an active library you can still get some shots from the upstairs balcony on silence.

Eat some delicious food in Amsterdam-Centrum

    Brunching at Omlegg

As per popular social media suggestion, grabbed breakast at cute little family run spot Omlegg and it was definitely delicious! I’m not usually a breakfast person but this was good and light and tucked away right in the heart of Central Amsterdam so was a very cute start to the day!

Spend a day at Zaanse Schans

Head to the countryside for the day and I promise you it will not disappoint. Zaanse Schans is the quaintest little village tucked away just outside the city. You can take the bus from Amsterdam Central and get there within the hour. Prettiest windmills treat your eyes and you can get to the top of the windmills and enjoy very pretty views of the fields.

We explored the farm in the village and came across some amazing cheese and picked up some of the best Truffle Mayo I have ever had. Even if you’re not a cheese connoisseur, it is definitely something to check out because I promise you, its crazy delicious.

And these are just some of the things that we did in our three days in Amsterdam. Since we went in the summer, it was absolutely packed to the brim with locals and tourists with amazing weather the entire time.
